The Station Master’s

The original Station Master’s house, built by Nathan Cohen & Co. was sold in 1991, after the Great Northern Line from Armidale closed. A succession of owners followed and we now find ourselves the incredibly fortunate custodians of this beautiful old dame.

The character, form, features and robustness of this home are rarely replicated in todays buildings and you can feel this as soon as you walk through her doors.

From our back garden, there is a gate which takes you directly into the old Railway Station itself. On the information board at the back of that building are Architectual drawings of the Station Master’s House from 1884, as well as some history of the area.

If walls could talk, we would love to hear the stories she could tell!

We look forward to welcoming you to The Station Masters.

WHERE WE ARE LOCATED

The Station Masters is located in the Ben Lomond Village, only a 20 minute drive from it’s closest town, Guyra in the undulating hills of the New England Region. We are a perfect stop off point between Sydney (7hrs) and Brisbane (5hrs), or Walgett (5hrs) and Yamba (3hrs).

Specific directions to the guesthouse will be given when you make your reservation.

THINGS TO DO

There are plenty of walks in and around the village with stock grazing all around you. So be sure to pack your walking shoes, and a good hat and coat.

We have two mountain bikes for guests to use, or feel free to bring your own bikes, the roads are quiet and it’s a great way to see the area.

There are a number of fishing retreats within a stones throw and plenty of birdwatching and natural wonders within an hours drive.
